The Princeton Section of the ACS is focused the professional needs of our members and fostering an appreciation of chemistry in the community through various Outreach programs.
We have monthly meetings throughout the year (except for the summer months) that comprise of a technical seminar as well as opportunities for networking at a social mixer and a dinner.
We also have periodic programs on career development. Recent examples are an ACS Leadership Development Course on Fostering Innovation, an ACS on Campus event tailored primarily for undergraduate and graduate students that comprised courses or presentations on resume preparation, career pathways and publishing in technical journals.
We have the annual Alyea awards for exceptional high school chemistry students, an Outstanding High School Chemistry Teacher Award, Chemagination Competition for high school students, Chemistry Outreach presentations at area schools and our National Chemistry Week Activities Night open to the general public. We have also organized several Science Cafés which are open to the general public. Our most recent topic was Eco-Friendly Design and featured the architecture of the new Frick Chemistry laboratory.
