Chanelle is obsessed with the interaction of light with biological matter, from natural light harvesting complexes in photosynthesis to light-initiated reactions and healing in biology. How have biological systems evolved to utilize light for their function? How do proteins reorganize and stabilize nonequilibrium charges that are generated upon light absorption? Is electromagnetic signalling operative in living systems in their supposed “warm, wet & noisy” environment? These are some of the questions that endlessly occupy her mind and keep her busy on top of being a mom and “fit foodie”. She enjoys gourmet food creation, endless cackles and random outbursts of song and dance.
